5 out of 5 stars After a long search, these are the best!   January 4, 2010

My 1.5 yr. old daughter has just begun feeding herself, and after searching for forks that actually work, are BPA free, and won't hurt her if she jabs herself in the mouth or face, I can happily say that I've found the best toddler spoon/fork set! She can grip the chunky handles steadily and use the utensils better than any I've seen her try so far, and I don't have to worry about safety. Even the spoon is well designed: she actually gets a mouthful of food on it and eats effectively! (Other spoons were too small, or too deep, this is just right!) The look of accomplishment on her face is so rewarding!

5 out of 5 stars Great Utensils for Little Hands!   November 24, 2007

These fork and spoon sets are great. My son is just starting to feed himself with a spoon and fork and this is the only fork that he can actually pick food up with and get to his mouth. The spoon is great too. Its not deep enough to be difficult to eat from but enough so that it will scoop food well. Plus the handles are fun and colorful too!

This silverware set is so easy for my 18-month-old grandson to use. He loves them -- and so do I!

4 out of 5 stars Handle shape is great...   July 2, 2010

...but I think the fork and spoon parts are a little bit too big. My son is a big boy, but he often hits the sides of his mouth while trying to feed himself due to the size of these. We have some plastic toddler spoons which are a better size for us.

3 out of 5 stars Frustrating   February 26, 2010

Half the time my son used his hands as much as he'd use a cutlery set. More often than not they were were played with and just modeled what it was like to eat like a "real person." I know many parents are concerned about their child stabbing themselves in the face as their young toddlers are beginning to master using a fork, but this one only frustrated my son. He couldn't stab any of his food and could only scoop as much as a spoon could. The balls on the end and bumpy grips only frustrated him-which was so not worth the tantrums. I much preferred using the Gerber Kiddie cutlery set of 3 with spoon, fork, and knife. I held off on giving the knife until after 2 years of age, but even then, I never had a problem with him hurting himself. He did a great job with it and we still use the 3 set at almost the age of 3. However, this product held up well and never had any wear or color fade. I suppose you just have to know your child to chose the best product.
